GraphOn Announces Free GO-Global Personal Edition Software
February 16, 2010 9:09 AM
GraphOn Corporation (OTCBB: GOJO), a leading worldwide developer of application publishing and Web-enabling solutions, announced two new application virtualization software products: GO-Global for Windows Personal Edition and GO-Global for UNIX Personal Edition. Both are available for free and can be downloaded at www.graphon.com/content/view/118/219.
GO-Global for Windows Personal Edition Web-enables any Windows application for fast and secure remote access from any PC, Mac, or Web browser. The plug-and-play virtualization solution “publishes” the application onto the Internet or company network in minutes – without the need to modify any code. An authorized user on another PC, Mac, UNIX/Linux computer, or other device can view and interact with the application in a Web browser window or a native desktop window – just as though it were running on the local device.
Similarly, GO-Global for UNIX Personal Edition publishes UNIX or Linux applications onto the Internet or network for remote access from any PC, Mac, or Web browser.
“Our free GO-Global Personal Edition products make application virtualization easy and secure for anyone who needs to access an application from a remote location or share it with another computer,” said John Dilworth, GraphOn vice president of sales and marketing. “For example, someone running QuickBooks or other program on their Windows-based office PC can access and run the application from home using a Mac laptop or other device. The remote computer displays and interacts with the application just as if it were installed locally. However, the application itself and all related files remain securely on the original PC.”
Unlike other remote access solutions that display the entire desktop on the remote system, GO-Global displays just the application, either in a Web browser or a native window, thereby retaining the remote computer’s desktop and user interface.
“And unlike solutions such as Citrix or Microsoft Windows Terminal Services, GO-Global utilizes our proprietary RXP protocol for fast and secure access, even over dial-up lines and Internet connections,” said Dilworth. “GO-Global transmissions are fully encrypted using Secure Socket Layer technology.”
GO-Global Personal Edition products allow virtualized access from one remote device. For those requiring concurrent access from multiple remote devices, GraphOn’s standard multi-user products, GO-Global for Windows and GO-Global for UNIX, are available as free 30-day trials at www.graphon.com.
