Dr. Bernie Mayer, Resident Professor of Conflict Resolution at Creighton University's graduate degree program in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution, is scheduled for major roles at two upcoming professional conferences.

In April, Mayer will present the opening address to the Court Sector of the American Bar Association Section on Dispute Resolution in Denver. At the Association of Family Conciliation Courts conference in June, Mayer will moderate a panel on domestic violence research at the opening plenary in Orlando.

The accomplished scholar instructs graduate students in both the on-campus and online master's and certificate programs in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution offered through Creighton University's Werner Institute, and is in great demand as an author, speaker and leader. Mayer's involvement in professional events also includes a presentation on mentoring mediators at the Association of Family Conciliation Courts' conference, based on a project he helped organize with the Alaska Supreme Court dispute resolution section. In addition, Mayer will participate in the fifth Think Tank on Child Welfare Collaborative Decision-Making Network, an initiative co-sponsored by the Association of Family Conciliation Courts, the American Humane Society, and The Werner Institute of Creighton University.

Mayer earned his Ph.D. in social work with an emphasis on conflict resolution. With more than a quarter century of experience in the field, he was a founding partner at CDR Associates, the internationally recognized mediation and conflict resolution organization, and originally trained as a psychotherapist.
