New Internet Portal to Help Providers Transition to ICD-10 Launches Today

ICD10monitor.com Aims to Bring Providers and Payers Together to Improve US Healthcare

Red Bank, NJ (PRWEB) April 19, 2011

The company that introduced the nation's first website to help providers grapple with the federal government's Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program (http://www.racmonitor.com) today launched ICD10monitor.com.

The site, http://www.icd10monitor.com, was launched simultaneously with the inaugural edition of its bimonthly e-newsletter, “ICD10monitor E-news.” The International Classification of Diseases, 9th Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-9CM) will be replaced by the 10th Revision (ICD-10-CM) effective October 2013. The conversion represents a major change for America's healthcare system, as the implementation of ICD-10 will affect all providers, vendors and care settings.

“We launched RACmonitor.com in 2008 to help healthcare providers prepare for the Recovery Audit Contractors, and we continue to do so with more than 30,000 visitors coming to our site each month in order to keep abreast of ongoing RAC activities,” said Chuck Buck, publisher for both RACmonitor.com and ICD10monitor.com. “Three years later, we're now providing them with a single source of news and information to help them in their implementation of ICD-10,” Buck added. “This transition from I-9 to I-10 represents a sea change, and we see our role as helping to bring together providers, vendors and payers for the betterment of healthcare in America not only through the transition but beyond 2013 with webinars, podcasts and in-depth feature articles that address every department and setting in healthcare — from labs and radiology to rehabilitation and hospice.”

The centerpiece is the ICD10monitor.com website. The site not only posts articles written for the many different hospital departments preparing for the transition, but it also features ICDuniversity.com, which will be producing webinars and a bookstore that will sell on-demand webcasts and e-books. ICD10monitor is a division of RAC Monitor, LLC.
