Aspen Education Group and In The Rooms Announce Strategic Partnership

Premier recovery-specific social networking portal to enhance Aspen's comprehensive services for youth and families

Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) January 25, 2011

Aspen Education Group, the nation's leading provider of therapeutic education programs for struggling or underachieving young people, and In The Rooms(ITR), the premier online social network dedicated to the global addiction recovery community, have announced a strategic partnership to develop an online community for the parents of students attending any of Aspen's 20-plus programs.

“We wanted to create a safe, healthy and healing community for parents who are struggling with their children's behavioral, learning or psychological issues,” said Phil Herschman, President of Aspen Education Group. “This partnership with ITR will allow us to augment our existing services for parents, providing them with additional tools to strengthen their relationship with their child.”

Once an adolescent is enrolled in one of Aspen's programs, parents will be given access to a dedicated, private Aspen parent alumni social networking site. Once there, parents can share success stories and struggles, celebrate milestones and achievements, greet newcomers, reach out to people who are online at that moment, and review and contribute to the most recent content posted by fellow members. Personal profile pages will allow parents the opportunity to update their status and read how friends are doing, as well as post on one another's walls to show encouragement and care. Online chat, text, and email alerts allow real-time support and the ability for members to stay connected with other parents and treatment program staff.

“The alumni site, developed by In The Rooms, was designed specifically to expand upon the Aspen residential treatment or wilderness program experience by offering a place for parents to contact and support each other once their child has completed treatment,” said Herschman.

In The Rooms was launched in October 2008 and has since become the most visited recovery-based social network in the world with over 120,000 members in over 50 countries.

“In The Rooms presents a warm and welcoming environment… [that] allows members to immediately feel safe and secure in their privacy,” reads the In The Rooms website. “By maintaining the integrity of these principles, In The Rooms allows people to reach out to one another across the globe 24-7 to share their experiences, strength and hope.”
