Local Performance Bicycle® Stores Seeking Tons of Food This Holiday Season
To help stock local food banks, all of Performance Bicycle's more than 90 stores nationwide will accept canned goods and non-perishable food items from December 3-17
Chapel Hill, NC (Vocus) December 1, 2010
Performance Bicycle, the nation's largest specialty bicycle retailer, is working with local food banks across the country to provide much-needed food to struggling individuals and families this holiday season.
Between December 3 and December 17, all 94 Performance stores nationwide will serve as receiving centers for food donations, which will be distributed by local food banks. Performance will accept a variety of non-perishable food items, including any kind of canned food or pasta, and dry foods such as cereal and rice that are sealed and packaged.
Performance collected nearly three tons of food last holiday season, and hopes to surpass that goal this year.
“We were overwhelmed by the generous outpouring of support by our guests last year,” said Jim Thompson, CEO of Performance Inc. “This time of year is always the hardest for those in need, so our goal is to collect as much food as we possibly can.”
Guests who donate three or more non-perishable food items will receive 10% off their entire in-store purchase. For a directory of Performance Bicycle stores nationwide, visit http://www.performancebike.com.
