Thompson Hine Announces Leadership Change for Atlanta Office
November 22, 2010 3:39 PM
Russell Rogers, a partner in Thompson Hine LLP's Business Litigation and Product Liability Litigation practice groups, will assume leadership of the firm's Atlanta office effective December 1, 2010. Rogers replaces Walt Addison Linscott, who will assume the role of general counsel and corporate secretary of Carestream, a global medical device company.
Rogers, who was selected for inclusion on the 2010 Georgia Super Lawyers list, focuses his practice on insurance coverage and secured lending litigation and product liability defense. He has held a variety of leadership positions at the firm and is active in the local community.
Linscott, who practiced in the firm's Cleveland office before joining Solvay Pharmaceuticals as general counsel and corporate secretary, returned to Thompson Hine as the partner-in-charge of the Atlanta office to spearhead the firm's expansion in the Southeast region. Under Linscott's leadership, the Atlanta office has grown to encompass a broad base of experience, including Corporate and Finance, Business and Product Liability Litigation, Intellectual Property, Environmental, Real Estate, Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation, and Business Restructuring, Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy. More recently, the firm has added lateral partners in areas including Environmental, Business Restructuring and Corporate to serve an increasing number of clients in Atlanta.
“Russ is a strong leader with an unwavering commitment to the service of Thompson Hine's clients. He embraces the tenets of our Client Service Pledge. Russ will do a great job leading our continued expansion in the Southeast region,” says David Hooker, Thompson Hine's managing partner. “Walt has been a driving force in the development of our Atlanta office. We are proud of what he has accomplished and look forward to continuing a strong relationship with our colleague and friend.”
Linscott says of Rogers, “Russ is a natural fit for this position because he has an optimistic drive to see the firm's clients succeed and a sincere desire to mentor others in the Atlanta office.”
With the approaching first quarter 2011 move of Thompson Hine's office to larger space in Buckhead, Rogers will continue to focus on expanding the office to serve the needs of the firm's local and national client base.
“Many of the firm's larger clients have operations in the Atlanta area. The long-term lease of our new space will provide ample room to grow our office and enhance our ability to serve clients in this important region to the firm,” Rogers notes. “Walt's move is indicative of the incredible talent we have at Thompson Hine, and I am excited to serve our clients and lawyers and to assist with the firm's plans for continued growth in the Southeast region.”
