CUPERTINO, Calif. & TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Intransa, the VideoAppliance company, and IPVisionSoftware, the innovator in highly scalable, cost-effective IP video surveillance systems, have announced that IPVisionSoftware’s Virtual Video Recorder (VVR) is now available as a preloaded, certified option on Intransa’s scalable VideoAppliance platforms. In addition, IPVisionSoftware VVR has achieved certification as an Intransa VideoAppliance SELECT Partner.

“We’re obsessed with getting rid of excessive servers whenever possible and Intransa’s VideoAppliance platforms get us one step closer to doing that,” said Mark Felberg, CEO at IPVisionSoftware. “By combining our ability to eliminate video recorders with Intransa’s ability to remove head end servers, ISP and Enterprise customers can scale their system by utilizing smart storage while doing away with costly servers and their needed support.”

IPVisionSoftware’s VVR provides an easy-to-deploy and use video surveillance platform that delivers unparalleled camera and storage scalability while significantly reducing initial and ongoing system costs. The VVR is a complete software-only video management solution that centrally indexes, configures and manages network-distributed third-party cameras or video encoders, video recordings, event messages and storage devices. In 2010 IPVisionSoftware’s VVR won the Security Industry Association’s best new product in the Integrated Software, Products and Systems category at ISC West.

“This is not just another video recording package running on a virtual machine,” stated Mark Kolar, IPVisionSoftware’s executive vice president of strategic alliances. “Running our VVR software on an Intransa appliance has finally made it easy and affordable to deploy and manage large numbers of high-definition cameras locally and remotely, without the need to stream video over networks to physical or virtual servers just so it is recorded and indexed.”

Each Intransa installer-ready appliance shrinks the complexity and cost of integrating commodity servers, storage and other hardware in a demanding physical security environment. Intransa’s VideoAppliance eliminates two, three, four or more commodity server and storage systems with a single, physical security optimized device and it includes integration with the customer’s choice of software, such as IPVisionSoftware’s VVR.

“IPVisionSoftware’s VVR brings a whole new level of benefits to our mutual customers and we are pleased that it is now available as a preloaded option on Intransa VideoAppliances,” said George Vaiser, vice president, video system applications. “The cost savings of reduced hardware, HVAC and electricity consumption combined with slashed support costs and easy expandability provides a true win-win for customers.”

Widely deployed by customers in the physical security, industrial video and related markets since its introduction in mid-2009, Intransa’s VideoAppliance was recently recognized as the Best in Video Storage and Distribution by the Security Industry Association at ISC West 2010 - the latest in a string of similar awards.

Intransa executives will be on-hand in booth 3497, October 12-14, 2010 at ASIS International, Dallas and booth 817, October 20-21, 2010 at Security Central Canada at Security Canada Central, Toronto.
