Today’s Top Media Minds are set to Connect and Converge at “FutureTech” in September
The world’s most influential media companies, innovative tech companies and the British Venture Capital Association are coming to Manchester September 14 -16th for three days of insights, pitches and high-level networking.
Roswell, GA (Vocus) August 11, 2010
FutureTech, conceived and sponsored by the North of England Inward Investment Agency (NOE), is set to take place September 14 – 16th. MediaCityUK, Europe’s largest, purpose-built convergent media hub and new home to 5 key BBC departments, will be the venue of this dynamic conference.
Attendees will discover quickly that FutureTech is not a typical trade conference as agendas are tailored to make the most of each attendee’s time. Each company designs their own schedule to include individual tours and one-on-one meetings to maximize their time and ROI. No two attendees will have the same experience.
The concept behind FutureTech is to give attendees direct access to the decision makers, innovators and the money behind the technology industry in the UK. North American companies looking to do business in the UK, can take advantage of 1-1 meetings with key industry drivers, including the BBC who will be discussing their future technology needs.
“We understand that every company has different needs,” says Kristen Hirst of the North of England Inward Investment Agency. “Some need help vetting out business partners, others need help understanding government regulations and others simply want to get an inside look at the latest projects coming out of the region. Our goal was to design a conference that put attendees in the driver’s seat. I think we’ve managed to do that with FutureTech.”
The conference is scheduled to coincide with and include the British Venture Capital Association’s one-day ‘Financing and Funding the Digital Age’ conference. This inaugural event will showcase technology coming out of the UK and bring together entrepreneurs and the investment community – including private equity and venture capital professionals.
“The UK, and Manchester in particular, is home to some of the most innovative and dynamic companies in the digital media space, ‘Financing and funding the digital age’ is the perfect showcase for this growing and vibrant industry, and will look to address some of the biggest issues for those entrepreneurs and investors who are shaping the future of the technological innovation,” says Simon Walker, CEO of the British Venture Capital Association.
