Some of the stocks that gained the most in pre-market trading are:

Amkor Technology Inc (NASDAQ: AMKR) shares have soared 9.22% in pre-market trading to $7.11. AMKR share price was driven by the company’s announcement of an upward revision of its revenue outlook on account of better-than-expected customer demand across product lines.

China BAK Battery Inc (NASDAQ: CBAK) shares have gained 6.69% in pre-market trading to $2.55. CBAK had recently announced that its Tianjin Facility has started executing a contract with Jilin Hi-tech Electric Vehicle Co. China BAK Battery’s shares had closed at $2.39.

STEC Inc (NASDAQ: STEC) shares have risen 5.23% in pre-market trading to $14.68. STEC shares rallied after Broadpoint Amtech said that STEC’s first-mover advantage will be sustainable for a longer than expected period and initiated coverage of the solid-state drive maker with a "buy" rating.

A-Power Energy Generation Systems Ltd (NASDAQ: APWR) shares are up 4.56% in pre-market trading to $20.40. APWR has signed a deal worth $86 million with Thailand-based Biomass Electricity to build a 150 megawatt biomass firing power plant.

Qiao Xing Universal Telephone Inc (NASDAQ: XING) shares have moved up 4.37% to $2.39 in pre-market trading. XING had reported its FQ3 net sales from continuing operations at about RMB 508.1 million (or US$74.4 million).
