Benzinga’s Top 5 Gainers (MPAC, NILE, HLCS, ASEI, CRIC)

MOD-PAC Corp (NASDAQ: MPAC) shares have risen by 7.82% in the pre-market trading. MPAC reported its strongest quarterly profits in nearly four years, with profits rising to $1 million, or $0.29 per share, from $14,000, or less than a penny per share, a year earlier.

Blue Nile Inc (NASDAQ: NILE) shares have risen by 7.17% in the pre-market trading. NILE posted its Q3 profits ahead of the consensus expectations. With NILE expecting the favorable sales trends to continue, the company raised its Q4 sales to $100-$109 million and a per-share profit to $0.35-$0.39.

Helicos BioSciences Corporation (NASDAQ: HLCS) shares have risen by 6.73% in the pre-market trading. HLCS indicated that its system orders more than doubled over the third quarter of 2009, as compared to 1H09. This resulted in a raise in HLCS system installations from six to eleven during the quarter.

American Science and Engineering Inc (NASDAQ: ASEI) shares have risen by 6.62% in the pre-market trading. ASEI reported robust results for that beat consensus expectations.

China Real Estate Information Corporation (NASDAQ: CRIC) shares have risen by 6.45% in the pre-market trading. CRIC’s shares had debuted strongly, with the US investors wanting to get a piece of China’s real estate market.
