The PMI Group, Inc. (NYSE:PMI) Beat Estimates by 10c, Shares Up

The PMI Group, Inc. (NYSE: PMI) reported third quarter net loss of $93.2 million versus $229.4 million last year. However, the company reported loss of $1.13 a share while Analysts polled by FactSet expected PMI to report loss $1.23 a share.

Moreover, Net premiums written in the quarter fell 3.8% to $167.4 million during the quarter.The company also increased its statutory capital by $139 million after it completed its various capital relief initiatives.

In the pre-market trading, PMI Group shares gained 8.07%.
