Large health insurers including United Health Care (NYSE: UNH) and Aetna Inc. (NYSE: AET) are down significantly due to the continued 'progress' on healthcare reform.

Earlier today Senator Olympia Snow, a republican from Maine, said she would support the current form of the health care reform bill. This would make the projected vote in committee at 14-9 in favor of the bill. This plan does not have a public option however, and is far from being the final version or a passing vote overall.

Still, on this news many health care stocks started to get pushed lower for fear of adverse costs, regulations, and taxes on the industry.

United Health Care is down $0.93 or 3.7% to $24.30/share while Aetna Inc. is down $0.62 or 2.2% to $25.80/share.
