DTE Energy offers tips for safe and festive holiday decorating

DETROIT, Nov. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As the holiday season gets underway, DTE Energy offers designer decorating tips to ensure customers' lights, trees and other decorations are festive, beautiful and – most importantly – safe.

While more than 86 percent of us decorate our homes to celebrate the holiday season, these traditions also increase the risk for fire and electric shock. According to the American Red Cross, more than 47,000 fires occur each year during the winter holidays.
