WellCare of Nebraska Offers Unique Programs for Nebraska Families and Children to Get and Stay Healthy

LINCOLN, Neb. and TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- WellCare of Nebraska, a subsidiary of WellCare Health Plans, Inc. WCG, will offer Nebraska's Heritage Health members an expanded variety of benefits and services to help them get and stay healthy.

During the 2017 Open Enrollment Period, which ends Dec. 1, 2016, Medicaid-eligible adults and children will be able to select a WellCare of Nebraska plan that is specifically designed to provide access to preventative care and wellness resources. In addition to 100 percent coverage of immunizations, pregnancy services, hospital and home health care services, and emergency/urgent care, WellCare of Nebraska offers extra benefits such as special kids-only events that promote healthy habits, online behavioral health therapy, and community baby showers that include prenatal and postpartum education and rewards for healthy behaviors.

WellCare of Nebraska will open "Welcome Rooms" in Kearney, Norfolk, Omaha and Scottsbluff. Welcome Rooms are neighborhood health information, education and activity centers. Open to the public, they offer a comfortable environment where visitors can ask questions about Medicaid, and members can get help accessing needed care and services. They also host dozens of free events each month, ranging from exercise and nutrition classes to education on preventive health, safety and disease management topics.

Heritage Health is the state's new health care delivery system that integrates Nebraska's current physical health, behavioral health and pharmacy programs into a single comprehensive and coordinated system for approximately 230,000 Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) members.
