AXIS Accident & Health Expands Presence in Dubai Market; Appoints Anees Ahmad as VP, Business Development Manager

AXIS Capital Holdings Limited ("AXIS Capital") AXS today announced that Anees Ahmad has joined AXIS Accident & Health, a leading provider of accident, specialty health and travel-related insurance and reinsurance, as Vice President and Business Development Manager for its Middle East and North Africa (MENA) reinsurance business.

Mr. Ahmad works out of AXIS Capital's office in the Dubai International Financial Centre and reports to Rob Smart, Senior Vice President, International Reinsurance of AXIS Accident & Health. Mr. Ahmad is the second Accident & Health hire in Dubai in recent months, and he works alongside Christian Romieh, who in August was appointed with the same title, to develop and manage business production for reinsurance in the MENA region.

Mr. Ahmad has spent the entirety of his career in Dubai working in medical reinsurance. Most recently, he served as Regional Underwriter, Middle East & Africa for MunichRe. He previously worked as an Assistant Manager, Technical & Policy Maintenance for Middle East, MedNet (Munich Health). Mr. Ahmad received his MS in Economics from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan.
