NCI Awarded Prime Position on $2.5 Billion Multiple Award Contract with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

NCI, Inc. NCIT, a leading provider of information technology (IT) and professional services and solutions to U.S. Federal Government agencies, announced today that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded its wholly-owned subsidiary AdvanceMed an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with a ceiling value of $2.5 billion. The effort, which represents both a continuation and expansion of NCI's scope of work for CMS, includes a one-year base period with nine one-year option periods.

Under this award, NCI will have the opportunity to perform work as a Unified Program Integrity Contractor (UPIC). The company is eligible to compete for individual task orders covering the five geographic areas, or jurisdictions, in multiple states as defined and awarded by CMS. As a UPIC, NCI will detect and proactively deter fraud, waste and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid programs. UPICs coordinate activities not only with CMS, but also with agencies at the federal, state and local levels of government as well as other CMS partners and contractors.
