Alabama Alligator Hunt Registration Now Open

MONTGOMERY, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announces the opening of Alligator Hunt Registration for the 2016 alligator season beginning at 8 a.m., June 3 and closing at 8 a.m., July 12. Dates are subject to change based on the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' discretion. Registrants will be drawn randomly by computer in order to be eligible for an Alligator Possession tag. Selection of hunters and alternates will be held July 12. Applicants can check their selection status by visiting the Alligator Hunt Registration site at http://www.alabamainteractive.org/alligator_hunt.

Those selected must accept their tags by 8 a.m. on July 19. If a tag is not accepted, the next name on the list will be notified and given 24 hours to respond until all vacancies have been filled.

Registrants may only register once for each of the three hunting areas offered in Alabama, and the cost is $22 per registration zone. Hunters must have a valid resident hunting license, which can be purchased online, and also a valid driver's license.
