Immersion Renews License Agreement With MEIZU for TouchSense® Haptic Technology

SAN JOSE, Calif. & SHANGHAI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Immersion Corporation IMMR, the leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, today announced that it has renewed a license agreement with MEIZU Technology Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of mobile devices in China, for the use of Immersion TouchSense® technology in MEIZU branded smartphones. Immersion's TouchSense technology enables device manufacturers to appeal to users' sense of touch by incorporating high-quality tactile effects and feedback in user interfaces and applications to simulate the connected experiences of the real world.

Using TouchSense Haptic Enabling Kit, Immersion's team will work with MEIZU to create custom designed tactile effects and implement a unique user experience for the prominent China mobile phone brand. For example, MEIZU's recently launched PRO 6 series feature a number of different use cases with Immersion's haptic technology, such as the back button, long-click home button, incoming calls, dial pad and keyboard. The tactile effects, adjustable to fit users' personal preferences, increase usability of mobile phone functions and enable MEIZU to deliver a more compelling product to its customers.
