Verint Delivers Enhanced User Experience to Security Intelligence Solutions Portfolio

VRNT today introduced strategic updates to its technology portfolio that help organizations achieve greater levels of situational awareness through the delivery of robust security and business intelligence. During this week's ISC WEST Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas, the company is unveiling Verint Video Tracker^™, and enhancements to its Verint EdgeVMS™ solution.

New Video Tracker Solution Transforms Investigations

Verint Video Tracker is designed to help users identify the most relevant data to elevate the effectiveness of their organizational monitoring, reporting and response. The solution, which leverages advanced analytics to automate the tracking of an individual through a large number of camera views within a location, can be used in real-time or forensically to identify, evaluate and respond to a variety security breaches.

Historically, video analytics systems have been difficult to deploy, operate and manage, often delivering a high rate of false positives. Verint Video Tracker is a transformative solution that streamlines proactive video monitoring and allows users to realize increased efficiencies by making it easier and faster to monitor, identify and take action on suspicious activities.

In an airport environment, for example, Verint Video Tracker can investigate bag theft by following the suspect across the facility and capturing his/her movements chronologically, allowing security personnel to leverage that data for investigations forensically or in real-time. It is estimated that Verint Video Tracker reduces investigation time significantly, further increasing an organization's return on investment. This solution also has application in corporate enterprises and critical infrastructures, where security officers can track suspicious persons from the time they enter a building to the time they leave the facility.

Verint Video Tracker will be offered as part of the Verint Situational Awareness Platform^™ and becomes generally available in June of this year. Using the Situational Awareness Platform, users benefit from insights gained through combined information systems and technologies, providing intelligence on what is happening at any given time and proactively addressing emerging threats.

EdgeVMS Enhancements Brings Greater Insight

Verint EdgeVMS is an enterprise NVR management system used for video viewing and automated monitoring. The latest enhancements to the solution incorporate enhanced visual viewing through map-based event displays and detailed facility layouts. The mapping functionality helps enable faster and more efficient response in large enterprise facilities, new buildings or sites that experience high-staff turnover. Leveraging the solution, security personnel can easily access detailed information about a facility's configuration to aid in response to situations that arise.

Verint has also expanded the external storage capacity of Verint EdgeVMS to address demand for longer video and data retention needs. The addition of external storage is ideal for larger corporate facilities. With its 64-bit architecture, users can address the growing requirements for overall storage capacity as video capture increases with the use of megapixel surveillance cameras.

Additional enhancements to Verint EdgeVMS include expanded intelligence capabilities through integration with retail transaction data systems. The ability to link video data with specific retail transactions allows users to search for specific events and anomalies—such as returns, no sale and voids— across multiple locations to proactively address potential fraud. The advanced intelligence built into Verint EdgeVMS drives more preventive fraud reduction efforts.

With these enhancements, security organizations can help streamline investigation management and multi-agency collaboration. Advanced case management features organize investigations and related documentation for easier sharing of case evidence with peers or law enforcement, and enable completed cases to be exported to help ensure quick resolution.
