WELLINGTON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

B/E Aerospace, Inc. (the "Company") BEAV, the world's leading manufacturer of aircraft cabin interior products, today announced that it has secured its latest victories in the Company's multi-venue patent dispute with MAG Aerospace Industries ("MAG"), a Zodiac Aerospace company, concerning the sale of the Company's innovative patented lightweight Ecosystems Agileâ„¢ aircraft vacuum toilet.

On March 18, 2016, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office invalidated three patents that MAG had asserted against B/E Aerospace. This follows the prior United States District Court case filed by MAG against B/E Aerospace that was dismissed in January 2015 based upon the court's findings that the B/E Aerospace patented lightweight toilets do not infringe the MAG patents. On March 23, 2016, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed the district court's decision in favor of B/E Aerospace in a unanimous ruling.

"We are pleased with the rulings by both the courts and the recent U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which should bring this litigation to a close. We have always maintained that our patented Ecosystems Agileâ„¢ aircraft vacuum toilets are unique," said Amin J. Khoury, B/E Aerospace's Executive Chairman of the Board. "We believe these latest decisions resolve any uncertainty regarding marketability of our innovative patented lightweight aircraft vacuum toilet products. Our patented Ecosystems Agileâ„¢ toilet has been selected for the new Boeing 777X aircraft and certified for retrofit programs on the Boeing 737, 747, 757, 767, and 777 aircraft and is an integral component of our Boeing 737 Advanced Lavatory. Our lightweight vacuum toilets have significant advantages in reliability, weight savings and maintainability than current products and allow components to be replaced in a matter of minutes, not hours, as in existing systems, thereby increasing aircraft flight hour availability and lowering overall ownership costs."
