Lincoln Financial Group's Charles "Chuck" Cornelio (Ret.) Named as Honoree of the LIMRA Continuing Education Fund

Charles "Chuck" Cornelio, retired president of Lincoln Financial Group's LNC Retirement Plan Services business, has been named an honoree of the LIMRA Continuing Education Fund. Cornelio was recognized for his commitment to the preservation and improvement of the private retirement savings system. He was honored during a formal reception and dinner prior to the beginning of the LIMRA 2015 Annual Conference, which is taking place Oct. 25-27 in Boston, Mass.

A 30-year veteran of the life insurance industry, Cornelio gained national recognition throughout his career for his efforts to champion the preservation and improvement of the private retirement savings system. He served on the American Council of Life Insurers' CEO Task Force on the Private Retirement Savings System, and on the board of LIMRA LOMA's Secure Retirement Institute. He is also a founding member of the SPARK Institute and a former governing board member.

Before his retirement in April 2015, Cornelio managed Lincoln's employer-sponsored retirement plans business and was dedicated to collaborating with intermediaries and plan sponsors to boost retirement readiness in America. He also had oversight of enterprise-wide customer services and information technology functions.

Prior to joining Lincoln Financial, Cornelio was executive vice president and chief legal officer of Jefferson Pilot Corporation. He also served as the company's chief information officer. Before joining Jefferson Pilot, Cornelio held several leadership roles in legal and operations at Chubb Life Insurance Company of America.

Cornelio graduated from Tufts University and Boston University School of Law. His industry designations include Fellow, Life Management Institute, and he holds a FINRA Series 24 license. He currently serves on the board for the Piedmont Triad Partnership, and he chairs the Guilford Education Alliance board. He is also on the board of Catholic Charities USA, and he is a member of the Order of Malta.
