Business Interiors by Staples(TM) Helps the Next Generation of Designers With Corporate Workspace Design Scholarship

MISSISSAUGA, ON --(Marketwired - August 26, 2015) - Staples SPLS

Business Interiors by Staples™, the full service furniture division of Staples Advantage Canada, announced that it has awarded academic scholarships to seven design students, for the fifth consecutive year. The students were selected on their ability to create a winning workplace design plan that encompassed space planning solutions, finishes and material selections as well as their presentation skills.

"As the workplace continues to evolve, we are committed to helping businesses create workplaces that accommodate generational shifts as well as advanced technology," said Sandra Vyse, National Director, Business Interiors by Staples. "Through these scholarships, we want to provide young designers an opportunity to think out of the box and support their creativity."

According to Tanya Markovic, scholarship recipient from Fanshawe College, "a good design can stimulate the mind in the workplace. Through this process, I was able to analyze and integrate innovative workplace trends that help improve workplace productivity."

Staples Advantage Canada partnered with several interior design schools in Canada. Professors selected their top students to participate in the workplace design challenge which saw more than 30 submissions.

The following students were chosen nationally and awarded a scholarship by a panel of interior designers from Business Interiors by Staples and several design firms:
