Federal-Mogul Motorparts 'Tech First' Initiative Expands to Asia With New Shanghai Technical Support Center

 First of Several Planned Overseas TSCs to Support Company's Global Growth Through Industry-Leading Technical Education, Product Support

Southfield, Michigan, July 9, 2015.Federal-Mogul Motorparts has expanded its "Tech First" aftermarket technical education initiative to Asia with the recent grand opening of a Technical Support Center (TSC) in Shanghai. Tech First was established to help the company, a division of Federal-Mogul Holdings Corporation FDML, build a stronger connection with vehicle repair providers through industry-leading technical education and other support. Federal-Mogul Motorparts has already launched a network of "Garage Gurus(TM)" TSCs in North America.

"Our new TSC will help us grow our business in China by providing best-in-class technical training and showcasing our products and brands among distribution partners and repair professionals," said Keith Power, President Asia-Pacific, Federal-Mogul Motorparts. "While the Asian and North American markets are at very different stages of development, each has shown a clear need for highly accessible, leading-edge training resources and product support."

The company is developing a training curriculum to be offered through the Shanghai facility and has signed a letter of intent to support the efforts of regional technical training academies.

Launched in April, the North American-based "Garage Gurus" TSC network currently includes state-of-the-art training facilities in Skokie, Ill., Van Nuys, Calif., and the Bronx, N.Y., with four additional centers - in Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas/Fort Worth and Rancho Dominguez, Calif. - opening later this month. The company expects to have up to 15 U.S.-based Garage Gurus centers in operation by the end of the year.
