SHERMAN OAKS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Cherokee Global Brands CHKE, a global marketer of style-focused lifestyle brands, announced today that the company has been added to the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 indices. The inclusion was effective immediately prior to the close of trading on Friday, June 26, 2015 when the Russell Global Index reconstituted its comprehensive set of U.S. and Global indices.

"We are honored to be added to the Russell 2000 and 3000 indices, a true indication of the successes we have achieved as a company over the past year," said Henry Stupp, Chief Executive Officer of Cherokee Global Brands. "We believe that our inclusion in the Russell will create additional investor awareness and will also support the broadening and strengthening of our shareholder base."

Annual Russell indexes reconstitution captures the 4,000 largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking these securities by total market capitalization. Membership in the Russell remains in place for one year. Russell determines membership for its indices primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes.
