ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Xylem Inc. XYL, a leading global water technology company, will unveil an innovative new water reuse solution for drinking water and host an urban resilience planning roundtable discussion at ACE 15, the American Water Works Association annual conference and exposition, taking place at the Convention Center in Anaheim, California, June 7-10. Xylem experts will also present a number of case stories about complex water reuse, wastewater treatment, groundwater disinfection and storm water applications at their booth (booth #1401) during the conference.

ACE takes place against a backdrop of one of the most severe droughts on record in California. Emergency drought regulations now in place aim to slash water use in urban areas by 25 percent. The measures also call for cities and water agencies to reduce water usage by amounts ranging from 8 percent to 36 percent*.

Xylem Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Joseph Vesey, who is meeting with water regulators, utility operators and customers at the event, said, "At Xylem we are committed to developing efficient and effective solutions to complex water challenges, such as those facing California. We are excited to unveil Leopold Oxelia for treating drinking water as our latest example of this commitment. ACE 2015 is a great platform for water industry leaders to collaborate on how we can help the state to secure a sustainable water supply today and for future generations."

Innovative technologies, including those that enable water reuse, are crucial components of a long-term sustainable solution to meeting California's water needs. Water reuse is a proven approach that can help meet growing water demands, producing high-quality water at a lower life-cycle cost than developing a new water supply. Water reuse delivers a resilient, drought-resistant water source with valuable economic and environmental benefits.

Xylem's new Leopold Oxelia is a multi-barrier drinking water treatment solution; an oxidation-enhanced, biologically active filtration system that produces safe and reliable biologically-stable, treated water with no taste or odor issues.

During the conference, Xylem experts will deliver a series of presentations detailing in-the-field examples of Xylem solutions that address complex issues including water reuse, wastewater treatment, storm water management and ground water disinfection.

Xylem was recently recognized at the WateReuse Research Foundation's 19th Annual Water Reuse & Desalination Research Conference for its commitment to water reuse research and developing innovative water reuse solutions. The WateReuse Research Foundation is a leading non-profit organization whose mission is to advance the science of water reuse, recycling and reclamation around the globe.
