ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Asynchrony, Inc., a technology consulting firm specializing in application development, mobile computing, systems and sensor integration, enterprise architecture, and tactical collaboration has been acquired by World Wide Technology, Inc., a market-leading technology integrator, from Schafer Corporation. As a part of World Wide Technology (WWT), the newly named Asynchrony Labs now offers enterprises a single provider that understands both the infrastructure and application side of technology initiatives; and the needs and concerns of both IT departments and lines of business.

"This brings great value to both our employees and our clients," said Bob Elfanbaum, co-founder and General Manager, Asynchrony. "A growing number of our customers need user-facing software solutions that integrate with complex back-end infrastructure. On demand access to WWT's Advanced Technology Center (ATC) and engineers will let us innovate on both levels throughout an entire project."

The ATC is a collaborative ecosystem to design, build, educate, demonstrate and deploy innovative technology products and integrated architectural solutions. Using the latest data center, collaboration, security and networking technology, WWT engineers design and integrate systems to solve business and technical challenges facing large public and private organizations. Sandbox environments and proof of concepts allow WWT to safely test new ideas and see exactly how they'll work in a customer's production environment.

"No matter how well technology infrastructure is architected and integrated, enterprises can only realize its full business value through equally well designed software applications," said Jim Kavanaugh, Chief Executive Officer of WWT. "The strategic acquisition will allow WWT to deliver complete end-to-end business solutions, including custom user-facing software and the systems and infrastructure that support it."

"The kinds of problems that WWT customers are trying to solve are exactly what we're made for," said Nate McKie, Asynchrony co-founder and CTO. "They're coming for business solutions that will allow them to make a significant leap. Our Agile process is designed to not simply meet initial requirements, but discover unforeseen opportunities that emerge over the course of each project."

"Asynchrony will continue to run as a distinct business unit under the company's current management team," said Jim Rubin, COO, Asynchrony. "While our headquarters will remain in our current downtown St. Louis location, we have an aggressive plan for growth, with our first new satellite office slated for Denver later this fall. We look forward to expanding our own customer base, as well as adding our software development services to WWT's capabilities."
