ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Pepco Energy Services Inc. (Pepco Energy), a subsidiary of Pepco Holdings Inc. (PHI) and a leading provider of performance-based energy efficiency and renewable energy projects and services, has again been awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC). Awards were made on May 8 by The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville. The IDIQ has $1.5 billion in capacity for task orders under a base ordering period of five years with one additional five-year option period. The IDIQ provides Pepco Energy with the opportunity to develop and execute task orders for the design, construction and operation of energy savings projects to help military installations meet mandated energy and water reduction goals, and renewable energy goals, while improving their energy infrastructure and resiliency. Because an ESPC task order is funded by guaranteed energy savings, there is no up-front cost to the government.

"Pepco Energy is proud to have the opportunity to continue to partner with Huntsville, the Army, and DOD under the ESPC program," said Mark Kumm, chief operating officer, Pepco Energy. "ESPC continues to be a valuable tool for the Army and the Federal government to reduce energy use and costs, enhance energy security and provide funding for facility improvements that may otherwise not go forward in today's budgetary environment."

Pepco Energy has successfully served the Army and other DOD installations since 1999. This includes ESPC task orders at the Natick Soldier Systems Center, Fort Meade, Fort Belvoir, Fort AP Hill, Fort McNair and Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. Pepco Energy was most recently selected by Huntsville and the Army to develop an ESPC task order with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg, Miss.
