HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Strayer Education, Inc., an education services company and owner of Strayer University, today announced the launch of Strayer@Work, a new division that partners with corporate clients to identify the skills gap in their organizations and deliver targeted training programs and customized college degrees to boost employee performance and reduce turnover. Strayer@Work has partnered with Fortune 1000 companies across a breadth of industries to unlock the hidden value trapped in organizations by diagnosing critical skill gaps and building customized, analytics- and ROI-driven programs that optimize employee performance in the roles where gaps are the greatest.

"With losses in productivity, competitiveness, and innovation, U.S. companies are starved for new ways of inspiring, improving and retaining high levels of employee performance," said Karl McDonnell, CEO of Strayer Education. "Strayer@Work is helping companies address these issues by identifying the critical skills driving internal performance gaps and implementing learning programs that accelerate employee development. The ROI associated with this process is real and measurable -- we have discovered that closing internal performance gaps can be worth anywhere from 7-15% of revenue."

Strayer@Work provides two unique lines of service:

  • Skills@Work, a proprietary program that identifies the critical skills and mindsets that drive performance gaps within a company and builds customized solutions to make those skills stick across the workforce.
  • Degrees@Work, which offers a company's workforce the opportunity to earn an associate, bachelor's or master's degree from Strayer University, an accredited institution of higher learning, at no cost and with no debt. Courses within degree programs are intended to help employees advance their careers, while enhancing their skill sets, and can be customized to prioritize and accelerate skill development in critical job functions.

"We are excited to see our mission of changing lives through education manifest itself in Strayer@Work," said McDonnell. "Education and business must be inextricably linked in order for today's workers and companies to succeed. We look forward to helping develop the next generation of top talent and competitive companies with Strayer's new offering for businesses."
