Saatchi Art Announces Solo Show with Bradley Wood

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Saatchi Art (saatchiart.com) today announced it will present Bradley Wood's first solo show in New York in a pop-up space on the Lower East Side. This exhibition continues the online gallery's series of solo shows in "real world" spaces, highlighting the work of exceptional emerging artists from all over the world who are part of Saatchi Art.

Curated by Rebecca Wilson, Chief Curator at Saatchi Art, the exhibition, entitled "Domestic Fictions," will present a new series of paintings which are as much about the "luscious butteriness of oil paint," as Wood puts it, as they are rich narratives about an eclectic cast of characters.

Once described as "a slacker Vuillard," Wood follows in the tradition of figurative interior painting, creating intimate settings inspired by his own paradoxical experience of being an artist living on the edge of an affluent New York suburb.

Based in New York and a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Wood has recently shown his work in New York, London, and Toronto. In 2014, he was selected for Saatchi Art's ongoing Invest in Art series, which features outstanding emerging artists from around the world whose works suggest great promise and investment potential.

The exhibition will be open to the public from June 3^rd to 7^th, with an opening night on Thursday, June 4^th and a late opening on Saturday, June 6^th.
