MELVILLE, N.Y., April 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Henry Schein, Inc. HSIC, the world's largest provider of health care products and services to office-based dental, animal health and medical practitioners, announced today that it has been named one of "America's Best Employers" by Forbes in the magazine's inaugural annual ranking. Henry Schein ranked #203 out of 500 organizations ranked by Forbes, based on an independent, anonymous survey of 20,000 employees working at more than 3,500 organizations.

"It is very gratifying to be recognized as one of the best employers in the United States by Forbes, especially since the selection is based on the opinion of employees who represent a company's greatest asset," said Stanley M. "This honor underscores our belief in Henry Schein's values-based culture, which is embraced by 18,000 Team Schein Members around the world and which has driven our growth and success for 83 years. We believe that by fostering an environment built on ethics, open communications, mutual benefit, creativity and recognition of the contributions of all Team Schein Members, we can help ensure that our best years are yet to come."

Forbes "America's Best Employers 2015" Methodology

The top employers comprising the list were chosen by Forbes based on an independent survey conducted by Statista.com. The survey included more than 20,000 American employees working for large U.S. companies and institutions, and U.S. divisions of international firms with at least 2,500 workers in the United States. Respondents were asked anonymously through several online panels how likely they would be to recommend their employer, or any other employer in their industry, to a potential employee. The respondents mirrored the gender, age, region, educational level, and ethnicity of the overall U.S. workforce. More than 3,500 companies were represented in the survey, with Forbes creating a list of the top 500 firms for their April 13, 2015 issue.
