Bernstein Liebhard LLP Announces $33 Million Kinross Gold Corporation Securities Class Action Settlement

NEW YORK, March 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bernstein Liebhard LLP is pleased to announce a $33 million settlement (the "Settlement") of a securities fraud class action lawsuit, led by Lead Plaintiff City of Austin (Texas) Police Retirement System against Kinross Gold Corporation ("Kinross") KGC and certain of its former senior officers.  The litigation relates to Kinross's public statements concerning the development of the Tasiast mine in West Africa. 

The Settlement is on behalf of persons or entities that purchased Kinross common stock on the open market in the United States between August 11, 2011 and January 16, 2012 (inclusive), and were purportedly damaged thereby.  The Settlement is pending preliminary approval by the Court.

The Settlement was reached after the parties had concluded factual and expert discovery and had briefed motions relating to class certification and the admissibility of the parties' experts.
