RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Time Warner Cable recently partnered with KZO Innovations to present a use case for video in the workplace as part of a joint vendor-client presentation for the Association for Talent Development. Time Warner Cable has been a client of KZO Innovations for nearly three years and has demonstrated notable results when it comes to effectiveness and efficiency with video when properly managed in the enterprise.

"We are focusing on a company-wide approach to learning to help us achieve a competitive advantage. Our goal is to develop a workforce that is able to learn quickly and efficiently," says Maria Leggett, Time Warner Cable's Director of Learning Design for Residential Sales, Care and Technical Operations. "Our training focus is utilizing ‘active learning'; in other words, helping the learner discover where to pull information rather than pushing the information."

Time Warner Cable chose video as a means to support its shift toward active learning. The learning team at Time Warner Cable believes video is effective because it's flexible, scalable and delivers a clear consistent message which can be very powerful for its sales teams when it comes to developing sales enablement capacity with its customers.

Additionally, and as many researchers have suggested, visual learning assists with retention. According to the author of "Brain Rules", Dr. John Medina, "We are incredible at remembering pictures. Hear a piece of information, and three days later you'll remember 10% of it. Add a picture and you'll remember 65%."

However, this is only the beginning. Time Warner Cable's work with KZO Innovations took what's known about visual and video-based learning and made it efficient and collaborative. KZO Innovations' video content management platform allows for enterprises to upload countless hours of video and then search by a specific moment in time --- literally down to the spoken word. The ease of finding video has made it possible for Time Warner Cable to use specific instances within its video library to supplemental instructor-led courses, to get information to sales people in real-time, and to create socialization between sales people and sales managers around very specific pieces of the sales process.

"With the proliferation of video, we see a growing demand to manage video. Too often video management is an afterthought, but like any content creation process, enterprises need to think about where to put that content, how to find it efficiently, how to make it flexible inside of a constantly changing environment, and how to get employees and customers to collaborate around concepts," says Jeff Fissel, KZO Innovations' Vice President of Solutions. "KZO Innovations helps companies to plan for that and execute on it. Time Warner Cable is a great example for how to make video a competitive advantage for a large company inside of a competitive marketplace."
