SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Xamarin, the enterprise mobile development platform that makes it fast and easy to build, test and monitor apps, today announced it has hired seasoned finance executive Bryan Morris as CFO. The hiring of Morris is Xamarin's latest move to scale its operations as the company continues to create the standard platform for mobile development and quality.

"Enterprises are standardizing on Xamarin, we are partnering with an ever-increasing number of companies and Xamarin continues to hire aggressively. All of this requires a level-headed leader to run finance," said CEO Nat Friedman. "Bryan is bringing the wisdom, energy and experience we need to grow our operations. Our entire company will greatly benefit from Bryan's passion and deep experience in scaling software companies."

Morris' nearly 20 years of financial and operational leadership will help Xamarin maintain the strong momentum achieved in 2014. Xamarin's developer community has nearly doubled in the last year to more than 900,000 developers and sales have grown at an even faster rate. Following a $54 million series C funding round in August of 2014—the largest single round of any mobile app platform company—Xamarin expanded into adjacent areas of the mobile application lifecycle with Xamarin Test Cloud and Xamarin Insights.

"I have closely watched how Xamarin helps developers expand the reach of their apps to billions of devices, while at the same time lowering development costs," said Morris. "I have long admired the company, the team and the product. This is a company that is essential to the mobile industry, which, as we all know, is the future of technology. That is where I want to be."

Morris joins Xamarin after serving as CFO at LiveRamp, a leading marketing technology company which was acquired by Acxiom Corporation ACXM in July 2014 for $310 million. There, Morris oversaw the company's rapid increase in employees, triple-digit revenue growth and its ultimate acquisition. Prior to that, Morris spent five and a half years as VP Finance at Ooyala (acquired by Telstra in October 2014), a leading SaaS provider of online video technology, where he led finance and administrative operations during a period of hypergrowth.
