Unisys Sponsors Harrisburg University Security Center of Excellence to Help Pennsylvania State and Local Governments Protect Data

BLUE BELL, Pa., Jan. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation UIS today announced its sponsorship of the Security Center of Excellence at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology to promote ways to protect government data and systems from hackers and other unauthorized access.

Established by the Harrisburg University and its Government Technology Institute (GTI), the new center is believed to be the first of its kind focused exclusively on securing data entrusted to state, county and local governments. As a founding member of the Security Center of Excellence, as well as the GTI, Unisys will collaborate with the university on education programs and developing a laboratory environment to promote innovation and best practices related to information security.

The City of Philadelphia also recently awarded a contract to Unisys to build an enhanced customer relationship management solution to support its "Philly 311" program for responding to citizen requests and inquiries, and proactively reaching out to citizens to improve their quality of life.
