. MKM goes on to write, "Teens, like their parents, remain cautious about spending, i.e., nearly twice as many consumers say they will spend less as say they will spend more. However, compared to last year's back-to-school study, conducted around the same time in September, we are picking up meaningful signals reflecting improvements in current spending and near- term spending intentions. Old Navy, Wal-Mart, Kohl's, J.C. Penney and The Gap are currently the most preferred, i.e., favorite destinations; Aeropostale, American Eagle and Abercrombie & Fitch remain in the next tier; Aeropostale is still positioned more favorably than specialty competitors American Eagle and Abercrombie & Fitch." Shares of Aeropostale lost 9 cents yesterday to close at $23.25, a loss of 0.4%.
