MORRISVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

SciQuest, Inc. SQI, a leading provider of cloud-based business automation solutions for spend management, today congratulates its customer, University of California Procurement —a system of 10 campuses—on receiving a SuperNova Award from Constellation Research Inc., for its leadership in disruptive technology adoption. The Award was presented at Constellation's Connected Enterprise innovation summit.

The SuperNova Awards are the first and only awards to celebrate the leaders and teams who have overcome the hurdles of technology adoption to successfully introduce emerging and disruptive technologies to their organizations.

Honored in the Technology Optimization & Innovation category, UC was praised for saving $132 million in FY 2013-2014, placing it ahead of schedule in reaching its goal to save $200 million annually by 2017. UC will redirect the savings to the university's core missions as part of its P200 Challenge. SciQuest's eProcurement platform, specifically its Supplier Information Management, Spend Radar and Consortium products, helped the university drive collaboration and change across the massive school system to achieve this milestone.

“We're honored to be acknowledged for instituting smarter spending throughout the UC system,” said William Cooper, Associate Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer, University of California Office of the President (UCOP). “By implementing eProcurement technology, UC is now able to identify system-wide opportunities and leverage our combined skills and buying power, optimizing the benefits to each campus individually and to the system as a whole.

“UC's P200 initiative is truly groundbreaking and serves as a blueprint for schools and organizations looking to minimize unnecessary spend and increase collaboration across campuses,” said Blair Tolbard, Vice President of Sales, SciQuest. “Today, the UC system has a clear picture of categorized spend locally and across the system along with key insights into its purchasing patterns and supplier base – and the capabilities to measure and track the benefits generated through these activities.”
