According to numerous reports, former HP CEO Mark Hurd is thinking about joining Oracle (ORCL). Hurd has been speaking with Larry Ellison about becoming a member of the management team at Oracle.

The move would be a double blow for Hewlett Packard. Not only would Hurd no longer be at HP, he would take his ideas to a rival tech firm. Hurd would be a perfect fit for Oracle's recent foray into the personal computer market. He could head up things at Sun Microsystems for Oracle. With Hurd's leadership Sun might finally become a legitimate rival to HP and Dell.
