SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Green Technology Solutions Inc. GTSO, a growth-oriented company globally exploring rare earth minerals and precious metals production, announced today it has appointed Wallace W. Browne as its new president and CEO.

Mr. Browne brings to GTSO extensive experience in multiple environmental disciplines, most recently for the last nine years as the owner/vice president of Gulf Environmental Services, Inc., which specializes in asbestos abatement services. Mr. Browne also boasts experience as an environmental compliance manager and as a wastewater operator at a petrochemicals company where he oversaw the commissioning, start-up and operation of a two billion pound per year Ethylene plant.

At GTSO, Mr. Browne will be tasked with continuing to expand GTSO's footprint in the urban mining arena as well as expanding the Company's international reach in precious metal production. GTSO and its partners recently completed a revenue-producing transaction with a major European smelter in which precious metals were extracted from collected e-waste.

“GTSO is on the cutting-edge of urban mining and is emerging globally as a recycler of precious metals from electronic waste,” Browne said. “This company has a bright future, and I am already working on more revenue-producing projects that will increase the company's value to shareholders and investors.”

Mr. Browne succeeds Paul Watson as CEO, who will leave the company to pursue other opportunities.

Urban mining is pivotal to GTSO's vision to compete alongside major international corporations striving for sustainable waste solutions, such as Covanta Holding Corporation CVA, Industrial Services of America IDSA and Sims Metal Management Ltd. SMS. In 2012, GTSO acquired the company Global Cell Buyers and soon after rebranded the company as Green Urban Mining to handle its domestic recycling and resale operations.
