Dick Bove of Rochdale Securities is still championing the cause of Citigroup (C). Bove appeared on CNBC today and advised investors to get long Citigroup. He thinks that Citigroup’s shares could easily double over the next year or two.

Bove stated that, "the operating businesses of the company have an unusually positive outlook for the future. The earnings per share should be 70 cents, and a couple of years from now, the stock should hit eight and a half. I think it's a buy."

Citigroup may be a buy but other financial stocks are looking more attractive in my book. Bank of America, US Bancorp, and JPMorgan chase are better franchises and have much greater earnings power in the financial industry.
