After years of waiting, Sprint users may finally be able to get their hands on America's leading smartphone.
That's according to the Dow Jones Newswires, which reports that multiple sources have claimed that Sprint
S will receive a version of the forthcoming iPhone 5.
This expands the iPhone family well beyond the AT&T
T and Verizon
VZ monopoly, and will be the first time iPhone users can sign up with a carrier that offers unlimited data.
Sprint shares rose 10% on the news, later cooling to a 4% increase.
Apple
AAPL is expected to make an
official announcement next month.
