J.C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE: JCP) shares just started soaring after news broke that the company hired Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) Ron Johnson to become JCP President.

The news was cited from the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones.

At last check, shares of J.C. Penney were up $1.54 to $31.65, a gain of 5.11% on almost 1 million shares.

J. C. Penney Company, Inc., through its subsidiary, J. C. Penney Corporation, Inc., operates department stores in the United States and Puerto Rico.
