Strauss-Kahn Lawyers Look To Discredit Victim

In what is tastelessly yet undeniably appropriately being referred to in some quarters as the biggest defense operation since the OJ Simpson trial, it would seem that the lawyers of Dominique Strauss-Kahn are scrambling for evidence to discredit a woman probably already suffering the most horrendous ordeal of her life. Of course, this is a predictable move. Since there were no witnesses, the 32-year-old's word is really all we have to go on. If she has a history of dishonesty, no matter how irrelevant to this case, the defense team wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't drag any minute, nonsensical details forward. It's ludicrous, but if the Guinea immigrant wrote down one untruth on her visa documentation in order to smooth her passage to the United States (hypothetically), then that could be used against her in this rape trial. One can only hope that the judge would be strong enough to see through any such tricks. The fallen head of the IMF will probably be too busy this week to notice that, no thanks to him, the euro is up 7 percent today after the news of Greece possibly getting more assistance.
