A Peek Into The Markets: U.S. Stock Futures Mostly Flat; Hasbro Q4 Profit Beats Views

Pre-open movers

U.S. stock futures traded mostly flat in early pre-market trade. The Labor Market Conditions Index for January is schedule for release at 10:00 a.m. ET. Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank President Patrick T. Harker is set to speak in San Diego, Calif. at 4:30 p.m. ET.


Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 2 points to 19,988.00, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index futures fell 0.25 points to 2,290.75. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index slipped 2 points to 5,153.00.

Oil prices traded higher as Brent crude futures gained 0.09 percent to trade at $56.86 per barrel, while US WTI crude futures rose 0.26 percent to trade at $53.97 a barrel.


A Peek Into Global Markets

European markets were mostly lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index dropping 0.31 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index falling 0.02 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 0.42 percent. The UK's FTSE index was trading higher by 0.28 percent, while French CAC 40 Index rose 0.26 percent.

In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.31 percent, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose 0.95 percent, China’s Shanghai Composite Index climbed 0.54 percent and India’s BSE Sensex climbed 0.70 percent.

Analysts at Bernstein upgraded Delta Air Lines, Inc. DAL from Market Perform to Outperform.

Delta Air shares rose 0.88 percent to close at $47.81 on Friday.
