A Peek Into The Markets: U.S. Stock Futures Signal Higher Start On Wall Street

U.S. stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 46 points to 19,883.00, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index futures gained 5.75 points to 2,265.75. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index rose 8.50 points to 4,947.50.

Oil prices traded higher as Brent crude futures gained 0.86 percent to trade at $55.39 per barrel, while US WTI crude futures also rose 0.58 percent to trade at $53.37 a barrel.


A Peek Into Global Markets

European markets were higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.47 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index gaining 0.27 percent and German DAX 30 index gaining 0.12 percent. The UK's FTSE index was trading higher by 0.36 percent, while French CAC 40 Index climbed 0.42 percent.

In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.53 percent, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 0.47 percent, China’s Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.49 percent and India’s BSE Sensex declined 0.25 percent.


Broker Recommendation

Analysts at Goldman Sachs upgraded Western Digital Corp WDC from Sell to Neutral and raised the price target from $53.00 to $68.00.

Western Digital shares rose 1.76 percent to close at $68.36 on Monday.
