Nordstrom Surges On Strong Results, Aided By Anniversary Sale

Nordstrom, Inc. JWN reports Q3 EPS $0.84, beating the Street’s consensus by $0.33.
Revenue of $3.5 billion, came in slightly ahead of expectations for $3.48 billion in sales.
It should be noted that the company’s Anniversary Sale inflated trends at the beginning of the quarter, for about one week.
Comp sales increased by 2.4 percent in Q3.
Total sales rose by 7.2 percent year-over-year.
Management said it expects revenue to surge by roughly 3.5 percent in fiscal 2016.
Management guided for full year EPS of $2.85 to $2.95, above estimates of $2.73.
Shares are trading up more than 7 percent on Thursday’s after-hours session.
