Gogo Biz 4G Remains On Schedule For Delivery Early Next Year

Gogo Inc GOGO revealed its Biz 4G remained on schedule for delivery in early next year. According to the company, that would be a significant milestone in its development of a fresh generation of connectivity and improved capabilities for business aviation.

The company's Business Aviation EVP and GM, John Wade, said "Gogo Biz 4G will deliver a true 4G in-flight experience on a robust, reliable network that business aircraft operators can count on. Flight-test performance has exceeded our expectations to date. Market interest is high and we remain on track for first shipments in early 2017."

Gogo said in its recent four-hour flight-test sortie aboard its Challenger 600 testbed, multiple streaming video, as well as, streaming audio sessions were conducted at the same time on a number of devices like tablets, phones, and laptops.

Gogo, known for its rigorous testing protocols, designed the initial phase of testing to put Gogo Biz 4G through its paces in the harshest real-world conditions. That included testing air and ground congestion. The company indicated that testing was conducted at full range from the respective ground sites – up to 150 miles – at typical business aircraft cruise altitudes (30,000-34,000 feet) in a live commercial environment with a plethora of other connected airline and business aircraft traffic in the vicinity.

Gogo Biz 4G was a specially designed app of its latest air-to-ground technology that leverages its current air-to-ground network, as well as, technology that has already flown hundreds of thousands of hours aboard thousands of business and commercial aircraft.
