5 After-Hours Movers: Netflix, MBIA And More

Shares of Netflix, Inc. NFLX were down more than 6 percent in Wednesday’s after-hours session, following the announcement of the company’s third quarter financial results. The video streaming giant reported earnings of $0.07 per share, in line with guidance and the Street’s consensus estimate, on revenue of $1.738 billion, which fell slightly short of experts’ expectations for sales of $1.749 billion.

DexCom, Inc. DXCM was up almost 14 percent since the bell rang, after the company reported preliminary unaudited revenues for the third quarter of roughly $105 million, up 52 percent year-over-year. “Demand for our G5 Mobile system has been overwhelming and our pipeline of new patient opportunities is larger than it has ever been,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Sayer.

Another big gainer in the afternoon is MBIA Inc. MBI, up more than 12 percent after the market closed, on news of Puerto Rico and U.S. officials “discussing the issuance of a ‘superbond’ administered by the U.S. Treasury Department that would help restructure the commonwealth’s $72 billion of debt,” according to The Wall Street Journal.

Imprivata Inc IMPR was down more than 18 percent. The small-cap healthcare information technology security solutions provider also announced preliminary third quarter financial results on Wednesday afternoon.

Finally, there’s Xilinx, Inc. XLNX, which was up more than 3 percent after hours on the back of a second quarter earnings report that beat expectations despite the fact that earnings fell 23 percent.
