reported stronger-than-expected results for the fiscal third quarter on Thursday. The Santa Clara, California-based company reported a quarterly loss of $5.1 million, or $0.09 per share, versus a year-ago net loss of 7.4 million, or $0.14 per share. Excluding items, the company's earnings rose to $0.12 per share from $0.07 per share. Its revenue climbed 28.0 percent year-over-year to $78.1 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.07 per share on revenue of $75.25 million. The average estimate among 11 Estimize users was for earnings of $0.09 per share and revenue of $75.50 million. "Our third quarter results highlight continued improvements in execution as we delivered record revenue driven by sequential and year-over-year product revenue growth," said Jesper Andersen, president and chief executive officer of Infoblox. "We continue to see strong demand for our core DDI solutions with both new customer deployments and existing customers upgrading to the newest version of our products." For the current quarter, Infoblox projects earnings of $0.09 to $0.10 per share, on revenue of $79 million to $81 million. Analysts had expected earnings of $0.09 per share on revenue of $78.39 million. Infoblox shares gained 1.21 percent to $26.64 in the after-hours trading session.
