Thomas Cook Posts Narrower H1 Loss

THOMAS COOK GROUP PLCTCKGY
posted a narrower pretax loss for the six months ended March 31. The travel company posted a half-year pretax loss of 303 million pounds ($466.6 million), versus a year-ago loss of GBP366 million. Underlying loss before tax slipped to 251 million pounds from 257 million pounds. Loss per share narrowed to 20.8 pence, versus 25.3 pence, in the year-ago period. Its revenue slipped to GBP2.7 billion from GBP3 billion. "Our performance in the first half provides a solid foundation for the full year and beyond," said Chief Executive Peter Fankhauser.
