Hon Hai Q1 Net Profit Surges

reported a 56 percent gain in its net profit for the first quarter. Hon Hai's quarterly net profit surged to 30.39 billion new Taiwan dollars ($998 million), versus a year-ago profit of NT$19.54 billion. Its revenue increased 15 percent to 1.01 trillion new Taiwan dollars, versus NT$883.48 billion. Hon Hai shares rose 1.55 percent to close at $6.04 yesterday.
